June in Greece

Folkloric dance, circle dance, folk dance, traditional dance, ethnic dance, world dance!

Dancing gives you the opportunity to be transported to other countries, to feel exciting new rhythms and to sample a slice of traditional cultures where music is an integral part of life. Its also a fun way to exercise and meet new people whatever you call it!

My repertoire includes dances from Armenia, Brittany, The Balkans, Israel, Greece and Turkey. I have had the enjoyment of learning from NZ and overseas dance tutors at workshops in NZ & Australia and Folk Dance New Zealand national camps. A highlight was to attend a 10 day seminar of Greek dance in 2008 on the island of Ammouliani, to dance with the locals in the village square and to join fellow dancers from around the world practise our newly learned dances in the warm taverna evenings.

From time to time I hold dance workshops and dance classes in Paihia & Kerikeri. See the Gigs Page for upcoming events.

If you are interested in learning traditional dances from around the world, contact me – I would love to hear from you.
